How likely are you to benefit from radiation therapy?
This short video can help you prepare for your appointment with your doctor to review your DCIS Score® results.
Your results will be available to your doctor about 2 weeks after your tumor sample arrives at the Exact Sciences lab.* The results provide a score between 0 and 100 that says how likely your cancer is to return in the next 10 years and how much radiation therapy may help you .
A low DCIS Score result means that there is a lower risk of your cancer returning, so you would have a smaller absolute benefit from radiation therapy
A high DCIS Score result means that there is a higher risk of your cancer returning, so you would have a greater absolute benefit from radiation therapy
It is important to understand that a low DCIS Score result does not mean that there is no chance that your breast cancer will return. And a high DCIS Score result does not mean that your breast cancer will definitely return. So, your treatment decisions still depend on your unique situation and personal preferences.
